Laboratory for Movement Biomechanics, ETH Zurich & Julius Wolff InstituteCharité – Universitätmedizin Berlin

are pleased to present the

CAMS-Knee OpenSim Workshop

“State-of-the-art measurement and simulation techniques for investigating functional knee joint mechanics”

Based on our joint project “CAMS-Knee” we present a unique workshop with live measurement and demonstrations

LIVE: INSTRUMENTED IMPLANTS

A patient with an instrumented implant from Instrumented Implants of Julius Wolff Institute (Charité – Universitätmedizin Berlin) will undergo motion analysis to provide original datasets for use in the workshop

LIVE: TENDON TENSIOMETERS

Tendon loads will be assessed simultaneously using shearwave tensiometers

SOFTWARE DEMONSTRATIONS

These datasets will be used as inputs to the COMAK simulation framework to predict in vivo joint mechanics during movement

VALIDATION DATASETS

The OrthoLoad CAMS-Knee datasets of simultaneously measured motion analysis, knee joint contact forces, and moving fluoroscopy will be presented and we would like to invite you to use the unique datasets within your individual scientific projects

The centerpiece of this 4 day workshop is a unique live collection of in vivo knee joint contact forces and tendon loading datasets, which will be used by participants throughout the workshop. These measurements will be complimented by keynote lectures, software demonstrations, participant research talks, and free time for participants to work on their own projects and consult with experts.

The workshop will also celebrate the public launch of the common CAMS-Knee project of the ETH and Charité, funded by RMS, which provides comprehensive datasets of whole body motion, ground reaction forces, electromyography, in vivo knee joint loading (instrumented implant) and skeletal kinematics (moving fluoroscopy).

The workshop is limited to 200 places, so be sure to register early for the event. Participants are encouraged to submit an abstract for research talks and poster awards.

In addition to the scientific program, there will be opportunities for networking with other researchers. Join us for a traditional Swiss raclette dinner while enjoying a spectacular view over the beautiful city of Zürich.
